Meet Dr. Dan

I'm (Elizabeth) writing this until I can get my dad to give me a better version in his voice. 

This blog is  more than just about my mother's cancer. It is also the product of a life lived around cancer. My dad, Dr. Dan Scaperoth M.D. is a Radiation Oncologist in Knoxville Tennessee, and he loves his job. We grew up around the dinner table talking about interesting cases at his office (don't worry, no HIPPA violations). At an early age I knew the difference between a malignant and a benign tumor, could tell you which types of cancer gave the worst side effects, and let's just say I never smoked. 

I think it will be fascinating to give my dad a chance to chime in about the medications my mother is taking and some typical side effects. It will also be interesting to hear his expertise on technology, grieving, healing, and pain.
